As a “preview of coming attractions” Modelithics, Inc. (www.modelithics.com) has released a free sample model library for accurate surface mount capacitor,
inductor and resistor component representation within Virtuoso Spectre Circuit Simulator of Cadence (version IC6.1). The sample library, Modelithics
SELECT™, is a collection of models selected from the Modelithics CLR Library™, representing five different popular surface mount RLC component families. Each
Modelithics® equivalent circuit model has been extracted from precision impedance and S-parameter measurements. Modelithics models include advanced features such as part-value scaling, substrate scaling, pad scaling,
representation of high-order resonant effects and accurate effective series resistance and are valid through 10GHz and higher.
The models in this library are intended for use with microstrip interconnects, custom-model extraction and can be performed through the Models-On-Demand Ô service. The Modelithics SELECT Library for Cadence will be posted for individual download at the following web location: http://www.modelithics.com/free-models.asp. Modelithics is currently planning to release its full CLR Library for Cadence in Q3 08.
